Oklahoma! was the first musical written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is based on the 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs. Set in farm country outside the town of Claremore, in 1906, it tells the story of farm girl Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors, cowboy Curly McLain and the sinister and frightening farmhand Jud Fry.

As ever with WWAOS auditions, the standard was incredibly high, and we don't envy the task of the panel coming to the decisions.

WWAOS performs at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, a small theatre in Walton-on-Thames. The Playhouse has free parking, including two disabled parking spaces. The Theatre and its facilities are Wheelchair accessible. To help our front of house staff, we would be grateful to be advised us ahead of time if you will arrive with a wheelchair so that the theatre can be prepared accordingly.
